ARTIST STATEMENT

Nicole Haché's artistic approach questions social constructions and takes a critical look at the mechanisms that govern human behaviour. Her work explores the relationships defining the components of a community, as well as the links between human and nature. She works at making the results of her research tangible through the use of carefully chosen materials endowed with a powerful symbolic force.

Seeking to merge science and aesthetics, the artist draws parallels between art, science, society and nature. Her previous training in a medical laboratory influences her approach focused on research, experimentation and the production of hybrid visual results.

Through her work, she examines lived experience within the environment, reflecting on the deep connection that unites us to natural sites. In this context, she reflects on the synergy possible between humans and nature, as well as the impact of these spaces on our mental and physical balance.

She questions the social models that leave indelible traces on our being, proposing new intimate spaces and thus broadening the boundaries of our identity.
